The Build Your Own Succulent Tray can include a mix of soft and frost hardy varieties. If you want exclusively one or the other, you'll want to check out our Bulk Soft Succulent Trays or Bulk Frost Hardy Succulent Trays.

All of the plants in the Build Your Own Succulent Tray are full plants, not cuttings. Each succulent comes rooted in a 2" square, plastic grow pot.

This tray features a wide variety of succulent types that vary in height. The pot is 2" tall. Rosette types are low-lying and the stem varieties can range from 1"-3" tall, above the pot. So the maximum height will be about 5" tall for a plant and its pot.

Unfortunately, we cannot take specific variety requests on the bulk succulent trays because we make them ahead of time with the plants that are in-season that week. But you can always order the specific variety you want here on our a la carte catalog.

I want to hand these out as a gift for the moms in the church on Mother's Day, and I plan to put single succulents into small terra cotta pots. I was just curious what would look better. I want the plant to be the focus, and I don't want it to look like it's too small for the pot, but I wasn't sure if a 2" pot would be too small to repot these into. See more »

Yes, 3" diameter pots would be a great option for transplanting the succulents in this tray individually. While they all come rooted in 2" plastic grow pots, the size of each plant can vary a little. The rosettes tend to span at least 2", while stem succulents often grow tall and narrow. We generally recommend using pots 2"-3.5" in diameter and depth for transplanting our standard 2" succulents individually upon delivery. And as always, use pots with drainage holes and pick a gritty, well-draining succulent soil.

Each of the succulents in this tray comes fully rooted in its own 2" square, plastic grow pot with drainage holes. It's always good plant hygiene to replant into a new pot with well-draining soil (or in the ground if they're hardy in your Grow Zone), but your succulents can stay in the grow pots they arrive in for up to about a month after delivery if necessary.

Yes, near a sunny window is a great place to keep freshly delivered succulents before you're ready to transplant them. If the weather is mild, you can also often keep succulents outdoors in a shaded to partial sun area.

Yes! Each succulent in this tray is individually planted in its own 2" square, plastic grow pot. So they do separate and make wonderful favors. For events, some people choose to wrap the pots in decorative paper or replant them in 2"-3" Succulent Pots.

You can order up to six months in advance to reserve your order. Just leave us a note in the "Order Comments" during checkout as to when you would like them delivered. If you're using them for an event, we recommend requesting delivery 1-2 weeks before the day of the event. That way the succulents can get some sun and recover from shipping before the big day.
