Fairy Garden Succulents are those succulent plants which are most useful in the attraction of fairies. These plants tend to have bright or intense colors like pink, emerald and maroon and they tend to even be fairy sized. On this list you’ll find whatever size, shape or color you’re looking for to design your very own fairy garden regardless of whether you’re designing for indoors or outdoors.
Fairy gardens are groups of plants, typically themed and centered around other decorations. Some people design quiet woodland cottages in a spruce forest out of a toy cabin and Sedum reflexum 'Blue Spruce'. Others set the scene for a toy castle with a mote filled with Sedum dasyphyllum and bordered by a forest of Crassula tetragona.
They can be planted in the ground or in a pot and are perfect for people who don’t have a whole lot of space or mobility to enjoy landscaping on a smaller scale. Furthermore, they make excellent and unique gifts for the plant lover in your life. They also are just relaxing to plant and maintain.
It’s important to choose plants for your fairy garden that have similar care needs since they will be growing together. As a general rule, succulents enjoy fast draining, mostly mineral soils with infrequent watering. However, as far as light and temperature requirements are concerned, these plants are variable.
Mature shape is another thing to consider when designing a fairy garden. Some plants may look like short rosettes when their small but, with age, they grow tall and shade out other plants in your fairy gardens. Other plants might get wide with age and cover your shorter Sedum. Be sure to see a mature picture of the plant you want in your fairy garden before deciding.
