How to Plant Succulent Cuttings
Cuttings can be planted in a cactus & succulent mix or regular potting soil, because they like more moisture than rooted succulents. As usual, be sure to use containers with drainage holes on the bottom to prevent standing water and rot. For stemmed varieties, remove lower leaves if necessary to expose the bottom 1" of stem. Plant this end snugly in the soil. Rosette varieties can simply be placed atop the soil.
Propagating & Rooting
Re-root cuttings in a spot with good airflow and bright, indirect sunlight. Water 2-4 times a week to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Actual frequency will vary depending on your conditions.
How Long Does it Take?
It depends, but most succulents take 4-6 weeks to establish roots. A very gentle pull will tell you if your succulent is firmly rooted in the soil. At this point, reduce your watering frequency, move the plant into brighter sun, and transition to Regular Succulent Care.
