Highlights
Sedum sieboldii 'Nana' (now Hylotelephium): A petite, creeping outdoor plant with gorgeous foliage. Slender stems sport leaf discs that can change colors between silver, blue, green, and lavender. A powdery coating of natural wax protects them in full sun and gives them a soft, pastel look. It blooms with clusters of tiny, vivid magenta flowers from late summer through fall. As they mature, the long stems can sprawl and trail, making them ideal for hanging baskets.
Please Note: This plant is winter dormant. All above ground foliage dies back in winter, and resprouts each spring.
Hardy Sedum are easy, frost-hardy plants that thrive outdoors with full sun and great drainage. Plant in raised beds or containers with drainage holes and mix 50% coarse sand, pumice, or perlite into the soil to prevent rot. Regular water will help young plants establish roots and spread quickly, but mature Sedum can tolerate several months of drought. If you choose to propagate by hand, cut off the top 2.0"+ of stem and transplant it to re-root.
