Highlights
Rebutia deminuta is a charming miniature cactus celebrated for its compact, globe-shaped form covered in dense, white spines that contrast beautifully with its dark green body. Despite its small size, this cactus makes a big impact when it bursts into bloom, producing a vivid display of bright red to orange, funnel-shaped flowers that nearly cover the plant in late spring to early summer. Native to the high-altitude regions of South America, Rebutia deminuta thrives in bright light and well-draining soil, with minimal watering needs. Ideal for small pots, dish gardens, or windowsill collections, it’s a low-maintenance gem that brings bold color and texture to any succulent or cactus arrangement.
. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.2" pot.
This cactus variety will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures it can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. Cactus need bright sunlight, great drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 70% to 80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply and wait for the soil to completely dry out before watering again.
