Highlights
Prometheum muratdaghense (t'Hart): A matting, ground cover species of flattened rosettes. Each rosette stays under about 1.0" wide. The spatulate leaves can flush pink to red at their tips when grown in bright sunlight. It produces tall bloom stalks in summer with white to pale yellow flowers. Try planting this ground cover in poor, rocky soil, in retaining walls, or around stepping stones.
Prometheum are easy, resilient plants that thrive outdoors with full sun and great drainage. Plant in raised beds or containers with drainage holes and mix 50% coarse sand, pumice, or perlite into the soil to prevent rot. Regular water will help young plants establish roots and spread quickly, but mature Prometheum can tolerate several months of drought. If you choose to propagate by hand, cut off a rosette and transplant it to re-root.
