Haworthia retusa f/ geraldii

Haworthia retusa f/ geraldii (now simply known as H. retusa) (Duval) is a fantastic indoor grower, even for the succulent beginner. The leaves of this medium rosette are recurved, meaning they bend slightly backward like a thumb.

Haworthia survive hot, sunny conditions in their native habitat by burying themselves nearly completely underground and going dormant in summer. To compensate for the low light, their flattened leaf tips have translucent "windows" that allow sunlight into the leaf interior.

Their ability to tolerate low light means they make exceptional houseplants. They grow slowly enough to stay small in pots and are rarely affected by succulent pests. Keep this low-maintenance plant in well-draining soil and pots with drainage holes. Only water when the soil is completely dry and reduce watering frequency during summer dormancy.
