Highlights
Medusa Head (Euphorbia flanaganii) (Harvey): A low-growing succulent of snaking, green stems with bumpy nodes. It is a fast, easy grower (particularly in hot, humid regions) and can reach up to 12.0" wide at maturity. This species is native to sandy grasslands and rocky outcroppings of South Africa. It tends to bloom summer through autumn with sweet, small yellow blossoms.
PLEASE NOTE: Euphorbia contain a white, latex sap that can cause skin irritation or allergic reaction. Use gloves and eye protection to handle.
Euphorbia will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need bright sunlight, great drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 75% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply and wait for the soil to completely dry out before watering again.
