Highlights
Peanut Cactus (Echinopsis chamaecereus) (Friedrich & Glaetzle): Easy to grow clumping cactus, bursting with finger-like stems. The stems can grow up to 12.0" long and curl out of a pot. It blooms with large, orange to red flowers in late spring and has short, bristly spines that are relatively gentle to the touch. This species is native to Argentina where it grows as a creeping, clumping mat.
This cactus will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need bright sunlight, great drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole, then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again.

I purchased a Peanut Cactus from you a while back, it has been doing well till now. Why is it limp ?

The Peanut Cactus goes limp when it's ready for water, and they tend to need more frequent water than most cacti. Unfortunately, limpness can also be a sign of overwatering and rot. You can always set up an advanced order. To do that, order whatever plants you like and, when you're checking out, write in the "order comments" section the date you would like to receive them by. We recommend getting them a couple weeks before you need them so they have time to recover from shipping.
The flowering issue is more complicated. Do you mean to say that you would like all 30 cacti to have flowers on them when they get to you? Or are you saying that you want 30 cacti that do make beautiful flowers when they bloom? If it's the former, we can't guarantee that, but if it's the latter, we can as many of the varieties we sell are easy bloomers.

If you were in zone 9 there would be little tricks that could help you, but zone 8 may be stretching it. You can certainly try it with a few tricks and see how it goes.
In general, if you keep cacti dry in the winter they tend to handle the cold better. A mineral based soil that drains water well is a must if you want to attempt outside overwintering. Also, do not water at all in the winter. The plant will be dormant anyway so this won't hurt it.
You can also put these plants close to your home or other heated structure. The small amount of heat that escapes through your insulation can benefit zone 10 plants in danger of freezing.
Finally covering the plants in the winter will help keep the frost off of them and increase the probability of their survival.

In fact, you should never water cactus and succulents right after transplanting any time of year. Wait several days after re-planting and then only water in response to signs of thirst, like completely dry soil and stems with a little give to them.

Yellowing at the base of a cactus is a symptom of root rot. Root rot is fatal to plants and cacti are especially prone to it.
It's caused by overwatering so the first step is to stop watering it completely. If the base of your plant's stem is beginning to yellow, that means that the rot has spread to the stem and more intense procedures must be taken.
I recommend cutting the stem off a half an inch above the yellowing. Throw the bottom part with the roots away and place the top part on a paper towel for roughly a 3-4 days; watching always for continued yellowing. I wouldn't recommend using fertilizer on your seedlings until you've already repotted them once and, even then, only sparingly.
At this point, they should be easily bigger than a marble and have distinct areoles with spines.

The issue with this request is that cacti grow more (or even less) ribs as they mature. You might start with a five sided plant, but end up with one that's eight sided within a few years. Furthermore, it's difficult to determine how many ribs a cactus will end up with. Mature gray ghost organs can have 5-8 ribs at maturity and there's no way to know how many it will end up with.
