Highlights

Echeveria 'Lilac Frost' (O'Connell): Giant rosette with astounding, bumpy texture on nearly the whole leaf surface when mature. It can grow to 12.0" and then grows tall on its stem. It has very distinctive coloring of mint green, frosted with a lavender wash that changes through the seasons. Keep in bright sun to see the full expression of the leaf colors. The leaves are covered with a powdery coating of natural wax (farina). Older, outer leaves will turn a dusty rose color. This cultivar is a hybrid of E. 'Etna'.

Echeveria need bright sunlight to maintain their colors and compact rosette form. They will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light.

Like most succulents, they need great drainage and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole, then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again.

Also known as "Mexican Hens & Chicks", Echeveria can produce new offsets or "chicks" around the base of the mother plant. These chicks can be left to form a tidy cluster or removed and transplanted. Additionally, Echeveria can be propagated from stem cuttings or mature leaves. Look to our Succulent Cuttings Guide for more information.

Not necessarily. We make all of our sets and trays each week based on the types of succulents that are in peak season. The photos are sample only, but you will get a range of varieties that all fit the theme of the set or tray.

Each of the succulents in this tray comes fully rooted in its own 2" square, plastic grow pot with drainage holes. It's always good plant hygiene to replant into a new pot with well-draining soil (or in the ground if they're hardy in your Grow Zone), but your succulents can stay in the grow pots they arrive in for up to about a month after delivery if necessary.

You can order up to six months in advance to reserve your order. Just leave us a note in the "Order Comments" during checkout as to when you would like them delivered. If you're using them for an event, we recommend requesting delivery 1-2 weeks before the day of the event. That way the succulents can get some sun and recover from shipping before the big day.

The pictures for our trays are for reference only. If you were to order this right now, the odds that you would receive the same plants as the one's pictured are pretty low. The only guarantee is that it'll be a tray of 5 different types of Echeveria, for 25 plants total.

If you want E. imbricata, it's likely that they'll be back in stock soon. On the E. imbricatalisting, just click on the "email me when product is back in stock" button and you'll receive an email as soon as they're available to buy.

All Echeveria need lots of sunshine for healthy, compact growth and vibrant colors. Aim to keep it outdoors in full sun in frost-free weather, indoors on a sunny, south-facing window sill, or directly under a Succulent Grow Light that's on for 12-14 hours per day. Echeveria are polycarpic and can bloom every year.

You can keep them in window sills! Different windows will get different amounts of sun of course, but wherever you're keeping any succulent, the best way to prevent sunburn is to let the plant gradually adapt to brighter sun. Slowly move the plant closer to the window sill over the course of 1-2 weeks. Especially dry or unrooted succulents are more susceptible to sunburn. You can also periodically rotate the pot to even out the light exposure on all sides.

I attached a link to our page about sunburn below, so you can catch it early if it does start. I hope this helps!
