Highlights
Crassula ovata 'Ogre Ears' is a whimsical and eye-catching jade plant variety with uniquely shaped tubular leaves that end in flared, red-tinged tips resembling cartoonish ears or trumpet shapes. This quirky succulent brings both charm and structure to container arrangements or indoor plant collections, thriving in bright light and well-draining soil. Like other jade plants, it’s drought-tolerant and easy to care for, making it perfect for beginners. Over time, 'Ogre Ears' can develop into a shrubby bonsai-like form, and with enough sun exposure, its leaf tips intensify in color.
'Ogre Ears' Jade tolerates extended drought and should be kept in containers with drainage holes and gritty, well-draining soil. Water deeply, but only when the soil is completely dry. Once your plant is mature, it can easily be propagated from stem cuttings (more info).
Crassula can show tiny white or black dots on their leaves. These are healthy, water-transferring pores called "hydathodes" and not a sign of disease.
