Devil's Horns (Crassula nudicaulis ssp. nudicaulis) (Linné): A loose rosette of long, red and green leaves that spread easily. This species stays under 5.0" tall and can grow into a mat if given space. It is native to South Africa and Lesotho where it grows on rocky slopes, slightly shaded by shrubs. It often blooms in spring, with tiny green to cream colored flowers on a tall bloom stalk. Exposure to direct sun will bring out more maroon tones in the leaves.
Soft succulents will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need ample sunlight, great drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole, then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again.

However, the vermiculite in your new soil is concerning. Vermiculite soaks up water like a sponge and holds on to it. This may encourage rot later on. A better choice would be pearlite, which sheds water rather than soaks it up.
First, plant the Jade Plant in a shallow pot, about 3"-4" deep, that has a drainage hole. We highly recommend using this Bonsai Jack Gritty Mix as soil. Aim to grow it in partial sun. Only water if the soil is completely dry and the leaves feel flexible. When you do water, deeply drench it until water runs out the pot's drainage hole. Potentially, support the main stem with a skewer.
After about a year in the shallow pot, it's time for the first trim. It's preferable to trim in the spring when your plant is actively growing. Be very aggressive with your pruning. Crassula watering is pretty normal for succulents. Soak the soil and then don't water it again until the soil totally dries out and the leaves just start to feel flexible. No need to water much in winter. These plants are very forgiving and shouldn't give you any trouble. I hope this helps!
