Highlights
Conophytum builobum (Marloth): An odd geometric succulent with olive green leaves and red margins. This plant clumps readily but grows slowly. Look for yellow blooms in the fall. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.5" pot.
Soft succulents will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need bright sunlight, rapid drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Only water after splitting is complete, when the soil is completely dry, and the new, inner leaf pair starts to feel less turgid.
