Highlights
Aloinopsis rosulata (Schwantes): An elegant silvery blue Aloinopsis with a deep taproot, like a carrot. Although the leaves appear textured, they are smooth to the touch and leathery in their flexibility. Its blooms are white with a crimson midstripe. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.5" pot.
To help your A. setifera thrive, plant in a container with a drainage hole that's deep enough to accommodate their long, tuberous root. Use a gritty, rapidly draining soil that's about 2:1 mineral (coarse sand, pumice, or perlite) to organic matter. Keep it on a very sunny windowsill or under a grow light and water in the spring and fall growing seasons if the soil is completely dry. Greatly reduce watering frequency in the summer and leave the plant completely dry during its winter dormancy. This variety will not tolerate hard frosts.
