Agave attenuata 'Ray of Light' (Variegated Foxtail Agave) PP21854: A stunning, variegated landscaping plant with elegant foliage. It has flexible leaves of apple green to blue-green with a cream border. It lacks the terminal spines that many Agave have, making it a more friendly plant to use in borders and near walkways. Each plant can grow to about 4.0' tall and wide and produces new offsets or "pups" around its base. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.5" pot.
Agave need plenty of full, outdoor sunlight and great drainage to thrive. They do well in gritty, mineral soils and pots with drainage holes. Over time you'll see new offsets or "pups" sprout up around the base of the mother plant.
Agave grow slowly in the spring and summer and can tolerate high heat and extended drought. This variety is not frost hardy but can spend winter indoors near a sunny window. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
