Highlights
Agave parryi var. truncata: A large, artichoke-shaped Agave with shorter, rounder leaves than the A. parryi species. The blue-green leaves have dark terminal spines and an outline of sharp teeth that leave dramatic imprints on inner leaves. They are native to Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental Mountain Range. At maturity, they can reach about 2.0' tall and 2.5' wide.
Agave need plenty of full, outdoor sunlight and great drainage to thrive. They do well in gritty, mineral soils and pots with drainage holes. Over time you'll see new offsets or "pups" sprout up around the base of the mother plant.
Agave grow slowly in the spring and summer and can tolerate high heat and extended drought. This variety is somewhat frost hardy, especially if kept dry. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
