Highlights
Agave lophantha 'Quadricolor' (also known as A. univittata): Long leaves with sawtooth margins sport four distinct colors when grown in bright sun: pale green, dark green, and yellow with red teeth. At maturity it can reach 24.0" wide and 18.0" tall. This cultivar is able to tolerate hot, dry conditions but you can encourage growth by watering weekly in the summer and giving afternoon shade when temperatures exceed 90F.
Please Note: Some leaves may be marked with dark abrasions, but they will be replaced with new leaves as the plant grows.
Agave need plenty of full, outdoor sunlight and great drainage to thrive. They do well in gritty, mineral soils and pots with drainage holes. Over time you'll see new offsets or "pups" sprout up around the base of the mother plant.
Agave grow slowly in the spring and summer and can tolerate high heat and extended drought. This variety is frost hardy to about 15F if kept dry through the winter. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
