Highlights
Agave potatorum 'Bon Petite' (Jesch): A gorgeous new cultivar from Waterwise Botanicals®. This fierce rosette is blue-green with maroon spines and has fascinating bud imprints on the surface of its leaves. This plant, however, stays small and can even be grown as a houseplant on a sunny sill. It produces lots of offsets that appear like "babies around a momma".
Agave need plenty of full sun and great drainage to thrive. They do well in gritty, mineral soils and pots with drainage holes. Over time you'll see new offsets or "pups" sprout up around the base of the mother plant.
Agave grow slowly in the spring and summer and can tolerate high heat and extended drought. This variety is somewhat frost hardy, especially if kept dry. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
