Highlights
Sedum 'Frosty Morn' (now Hylotelephium erythrostictum): A showy, variegated landscaping plant from Japan with phenomenal foliage and flowers. It grows tall stems 18.0"-24.0" long and has large, thin leaves. The foliage is a soft, sage green with white to cream borders. Prune off any green shoots to maintain variegation. It blooms in late summer with clusters of tiny pink and white flowers. This variety survives extra cold winters by going dormant and losing its aboveground plant matter. It bursts back to life with new sprouts each spring.
Hardy Sedum are easy, frost-hardy plants that thrive outdoors with full sun and great drainage. Plant in raised beds or containers with drainage holes and mix 50% coarse sand, pumice, or perlite into the soil to prevent rot. Regular water will help young plants establish roots and spread quickly, but mature Sedum can tolerate several months of drought. If you choose to propagate by hand, cut off the top 2.0"+ of stem and transplant it to re-root.
