Highlights
Sedum (now Hylotelephium spectabile) 'Autumn Fire': An improved cultivar of Sedum 'Autumn Joy' with more robust stems and longer lasting blooms. This tall Sedum works well outdoors in borders and entryways. It has blue-green leaves with saw-toothed edges. You can look forward to clusters of rose pink flowers that last August through October, maturing to copper. This frost hardy plant is not only lovely to look at, but it is an important long season bloomer for pollinators.
Please Note: Dormant in winter months. All aboveground material dies back in winter and sprouts anew each spring.
Hardy Sedum are easy, frost-hardy plants that thrive outdoors with full sun and great drainage. Plant in raised beds or containers with drainage holes and mix 50% coarse sand, pumice, or perlite into the soil to prevent rot. Regular water will help young plants establish roots and spread quickly, but mature Sedum can tolerate several months of drought. If you choose to propagate by hand, cut off the top 2.0"+ of stem and transplant it to re-root.
