Highlights
Prometheum chrysanthum ssp. chrysanthum (previously known as Rosularia chrysantha) ('t Hart): Small, green rosettes that stay under 1.0" wide and have a light velvety coating. It is a slow-growing ground cover that mounds into dense colonies over time. This species is native to Turkey and produces creamy white blooms each summer.
Prometheum are easy, resilient plants that thrive outdoors with full sun and great drainage. Plant in raised beds or containers with drainage holes and mix 50% coarse sand, pumice, or perlite into the soil to prevent rot. Regular water will help young plants establish roots and spread quickly, but mature Rosularia can tolerate several months of drought. If you choose to propagate by hand, cut off a rosette and transplant it to re-root.
