Kalanchoe blossfeldiana (pink bloom): An easy to grow houseplant with phenomenal flowers. It grows large, robust foliage with a waxy feel and scalloped edges. This variety has showy, prolific flowers of bright pink that can last for many weeks and re-bloom throughout the year. It can grow into a small sub-shrub, reaching 18.0" tall and 20.0" wide at maturity.
Soft succulents will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need great drainage and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole, then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again.

If it's already getting 6+ hours of sunlight a day or the stem isn't so bare, you could try fertilizing it, using a well balanced fertilizer during the seasons it grows the most. You could also try using a fertilizer that is high in phosphorous bi-weekly.
I looked up some reviews and forums that talk about that particular soil and I find that people have the same suspicion as you do. It holds water too well to be a good succulent soil and people really recommend cutting it with something grittier. Perlite, coarse sand, or pumice should absolutely help. I've also heard of people mixing this soil in a 50/50 ratio with chicken grit or even aquatic plant soil for cactus, but Kalanchoe can take a bit more water so you may not have to be that extreme about it.
However, this may not be the only issue. You could try gradually moving it into more light to encourage growth. Fertilizing is also a possibility. If you go this route, I would recommend using a 1/4 or 1/2 strength fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season in the spring to summer. I hope this all helps!

Do you mean specifically Kalanchoe blossfeldiana plants or all Kalanchoe plants? Regardless, I'll attach a link to this post that should take you to the Kalanchoe page on our website.
