Highlights
Euphorbia polygona 'Snowflake': A spined variety with a columnar form up to about 24.0" tall. This cultivar has deep ribs, somewhat like a barrel cactus, and is coated with chalky white powder that gives it a frosty appearance. As it grows, 'Snowflake' produces lots of new offsets around its base and develops into a prolific cluster of towers. When in bloom, its coating of purple and yellow flowers contrasts wonderfully with the white stems.
PLEASE NOTE: Euphorbia contain a white, latex sap that can cause skin irritation or allergic reaction. Use gloves and eye protection to handle.
Euphorbia will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need bright sunlight, great drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 75% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply and wait for the soil to completely dry out before watering again.
