Delosperma HOTCAKES® 'Saucy Strawberry' PPAF: On top of being a vigorous, clumping ground cover that requires little maintenance, this cultivar puts on an impressive floral display from summer to fall. Its large blooms are made up of lots of long, narrow petals. The flowers are a glossy scarlet with a fuschia center. They're both eye-catching and attractive to pollinators, and they make a stunning statement in borders, rock, garden, and large containers.
Delosperma are easy, frost hardy plants that thrive outdoors with full sun and great drainage. Plant in raised beds or containers with drainage holes and mix 50% coarse sand, pumice, or perlite into the soil to prevent rot. Regular water will help young plants establish roots and spread quickly, but mature Delosperma can tolerate several months of drought. If you choose to propagate by hand, cut off the top 2.0"+ of stem and transplant it to re-root.
