Climate: Zone 10 (30F). Protect from frost and heavy rain (what's my zone?)
Where to Grow: Keep indoors with indirect sunlight. Avoid placing on south-facing window sills to prevent sunburn
Transplanting: We recommend transplanting within 1-2 weeks. If necessary, plants can stay in original pots for several weeks with proper care

That plant is known as a Crassula ovata or classic jade, which you can find at the link below. Although the humidity in Florida would be a concern, classic jade is tough. As long as it had a well draining soil, and you were careful with watering, classic jade would thrive.

How do I make a bonsai out of a jade plant house plant?

We want to first preface this by saying that bonsai is an art form. How you decide to shape or trim your bonsai is up to you and will be informed by how you want your plant to look.

First, plant the Jade Plant in a shallow pot, about 3"-4" deep, that has a drainage hole. We highly recommend using this Bonsai Jack Gritty Mix as soil. Aim to grow it in partial sun. Only water if the soil is completely dry and the leaves feel flexible. When you do water, deeply drench it until water runs out the pot's drainage hole. Potentially, support the main stem with a skewer.

After about a year in the shallow pot, it's time for the first trim. It's preferable to trim in the spring when your plant is actively growing. Be very aggressive with your pruning. What you're looking for with your first trim is, essentially, to turn your plant into a twig. You'll remove most of the foliage, just be careful not to remove it all. What type of pot do the succulents ship in?

Each of the succulents in this tray comes fully rooted in its own 2" square, plastic grow pot with drainage holes. It's always good plant hygiene to replant into a new pot with well-draining soil (or in the ground if they're hardy in your Grow Zone), but your succulents can stay in the grow pots they arrive in for up to about a month after delivery if necessary.

Succulents need grittier soil than other plants because they are adapted to dry conditions and store water in their leaves. Regular potting soil mixes stay damp for long periods of time, which can cause rot in succulents. Instead, use a sandy, well-draining soil so you can water thoroughly without leaving your succulent in standing water.
