Highlights
Cotyledon higginsiae is a rare and sculptural succulent native to South Africa, prized for its thick, upright leaves coated in a soft, powdery silver-blue hue. The chubby, cylindrical foliage grows in dense, vertical clusters, giving the plant a distinctive architectural look that stands out in any succulent arrangement or container garden. During the blooming season, it produces delicate, bell-shaped orange flowers on tall stalks, adding a splash of color to its cool-toned palette. Cotyledon higginsiae thrives in bright light and well-draining soil, requiring minimal watering and care. Its unique form and elegant coloration make it a favorite among collectors and a standout addition to any drought-tolerant landscape or indoor display. Fully rooted in a 2" pot.
Soft succulents will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need ample sunlight, good drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole, then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again.
