Highlights

Chick Charms® Lotus Blossom™ (PPAF): A brightly colored combination of bubble gum pink, crimson and creamy white, all wrapped up in one cold hardy plant! It's perfect for adding those pink tones to a garden bed while not sacrificing the tough-as-nails nature Sempervivum are known for. This plant is fully rooted in a 2.0" pot.

Hens & Chicks need plenty of outdoor sunlight to show their best colors and maintain a tight rosette form. They thrive in gritty, well-draining soils and pots with drainage holes. They produce new offsets or "chicks" on stolons. These chicks can be left to form tidy clusters or removed to share and transplant.

Sempervivum do most of their growing in the spring and summer, and will thrive with weekly watering and afternoon shade if temperatures exceed 80F. They are incredibly frost hardy and will happily thrive through winter under an insulating blanket of snow. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.

They do. However, any chicks, or offsets, they make will survive the flowering rosette. The chick charms are just premium Sempervivum so they take the same care.

You can, but Sempervivum prefer to be outside. They just don't get as colorful inside and they tend to be more susceptible to overwatering and disease inside.

No, but there are lots of varieties that produce lots of new offsets each year. They grow to fill the space of any rosette that bloomed out so that the cluster is constantly renewing itself and growing every year. You can find Sempervivum filtered for "Lots of Offsets" at the link below.

Actually, pale colors are a sign of too little light. Try moving the grow light closer to the plant or, even better, moving the plant outside into the sun. Be sure to introduce it to sunlight gradually. Moving it from inside, to partial sun, to full sun over the course of a week or so. That will help prevent sunburn.

It can, but Sempervivum thrive best outdoors with bright soil and cold nights and winters. They don't get as colorful inside and are more susceptible to overwatering and disease indoors.

It can, but it is much healthier and prettier when grown outdoors. They just don't reach their best colors indoors and they're more susceptible to disease inside. But if you want to try, grow it on a very sunny sill or under a grow light.

Chick Charms Rock! Beautiful established plants. ❤️
May 31, 2024 by Diane R. (United States)
“I have collected some of the Chick charms special editions. I love my 4 lotus blossom plants. Very fully rooted and established plants with offsets showing already. Love the exotic colors with pinks and maroons with a light green or almost white center.”

“Great ”

“I was hesitant about ordering live plants from California as I live in Michigan but I thought I would just give it a try. I am beyond happy with EVERY succulent that I ordered! In fact after the first order I ordered two more times. I can’t say enough about this company. The packaging and the care that goes into preparing the plants for shipping is just amazing and the succulents themselves are healthy and ready to be planted. I highly recommend Mountain Crest Gardens for all your succulents needs!!!”
