Highlights
'Sunrise' (Anacampseros telephiastrum f. variegatum) (De Candolle): A standout container plant. The variegation on this small rosette reveals vibrant pigments of hot pink and apple green that will accent any planting. It is native to the rocky slopes of South Africa where it spreads as a ground cover and tolerates high heat and extended drought.
The fine, white filaments that can grow from its center help it survive droughts by trapping water vapor from the air. Anacampseros tend to like a bit more water than most succulents, but you will know when they are thirsty because their leaves wrinkle slightly.
In cultivation, 'Sunrise' grows well in indoor pots on sunny window sills. This slow grower will stay small but its bright color makes it stand out in arrangements. Each summer, it can produce large, pink flowers that open in the afternoon and close by nightfall.
Anacampseros is a soft succulent genus and the plants need protection from frost. Give it great drainage by using gritty soil and pots with drainage holes. Its most vibrant colors will show when the plant is grown in bright sunlight.

The Happy Bean Plant can grow up to 8 inches tall, but it does like to be a little root bound. It's okay and, even healthy, to have this plant in an undersized pot. You should only up the size of its pot when it gets far too large for it.

It's important to note that if your plant is not root bound, trimming isn't necessary. It's also not necessary if the new pot is a lot bigger than the old one (i.e. if the new pot is 2" or more larger than the old pot, you won't need to trim the roots).
When you go to repot your happy bean plant, check the roots before knocking off any soil. If you see mostly roots and only a little soil, your plant is root bound. Happy bean plant can tolerate being root bound so this isn't a big deal, but trimming the roots will encourage their growing into new soil in a new pot.
Get a pair of shears or sturdy scissors and sterilize them by dipping them in isopropyl alcohol (this will help prevent disease). Then remove as much soil from the mass of roots as you can. Then use the shears to cut the roots back, starting at their tips. You won't need to cut them very short so don't get too zealous in your cutting.

Peperomia, in general, tend not to propagate well via leaves alone so it's doubtful these will grow into new plants. Instead, they're propagated via stem cuttings, which you can learn about at the link below!

Unfortunately, this sounds like a case of stem rot due to overwatering. You'll have to take a cutting of healthy plant material, reroot it and start over. Make your cut 1/4" - 1/2" above the rot line to ensure that none of the rot is on the cutting. Then, follow the instructions at the link below to root your cutting. Please note, Peperomia leaves don't root like some other succulent leaves do, so you'll need to take a stem cutting.
Be sure that the soil you root your cutting into is well draining (1:1 bagged succulent soil and perlite) and that your pot has a drainage hole. Once the cutting roots, only water it once the soil is dry and the plant shows signs of thirst (wrinkled leaves).

No. No studies have shown Peperomia to cause issues when ingested or touched. We of course don't recommend eating it, but it's safe to keep around curious pets and children who might try to nibble it.

Succulents need grittier soil than other plants because they are adapted to dry conditions and store water in their leaves. Regular potting soil mixes stay damp for long periods of time, which can cause rot in succulents. Instead, use a sandy, well-draining soil so you can water thoroughly without leaving your succulent in standing water.

Our plants can be transplanted immediately upon arrival.
If you want to wait to transplant, they can remain in their original containers for up to a month. If the pots came in a plastic carrier tray, remove the pots from the carrier tray prior to the first watering.
Keep the plants indoors near a sunny window or outdoors under a roof (only if outdoor temperatures stay above your succulent's minimum hardiness temperature). Water only after the soil is fully dry by drenching from above with a faucet, hose, or watering can. Gently shake excess water from the leaves and allow containers to drain completely.

Fertilizing is not necessary, but it is a good option for succulent growers who want to encourage faster, larger growth. It can be used on mature plants with established roots. Only fertilize in the growing season (spring and summer for most varieties) to avoid weakening or burning dormant plants. Use a light touch and make 2-3 applications of low-Nitrogen, diluted fertilizer each year (N-P-K ratio around 5-10-10). You can find specially-formulated cactus / succulent fertilizers in most garden centers or go organic with compost tea or bone meal.
