Sempervivum 'Climax' (Ford 1969): A showstopper of a rosette that can express a range of sunset tones, transitioning from yellow, orange, pink, and purple through the seasons. This variety send out lots of offsets or "chicks" on stolons which can easily be removed, shared, and transplanted. Sempervivum thrive outdoors in partial sun and they can tolerate extended drought and frost. Plant in well-draining soil and only water if the soil is completely dry.

Best planted in clusters, Sempervivum throw new offsets (chicks) each spring. Once a plant blooms, it dies, but the chicks carry on for future years, maturing and making their own offsets. Common names are 'Hens & Chicks' and 'Houseleeks'.
