Highlights
Neobuxbaumia euphorbioides 'Cristata' is a rare and sculptural cactus prized for its dramatic, fan-shaped crested growth that forms intricate, undulating ridges and folds along its surface. With a blue-green hue and occasional hints of silver, this striking specimen resembles living coral or abstract art, making it a standout centerpiece in any cactus collection or modern container garden. Native to Mexico, it thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, requiring minimal water and care—ideal for collectors and enthusiasts of unusual, architectural succulents. Its slow-growing, cresting habit makes each plant entirely unique, offering a truly one-of-a-kind visual experience in both indoor and outdoor settings.. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.0" pot.
This cactus variety will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures it can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. Cactus need bright sunlight, great drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 70% to 80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply and wait for the soil to completely dry out before watering again.
