1.2"W x 1.5"L rooted Sempervivum heuffelii plug (unlabeled). Sempervivum heuffelii are hardy rosette succulents that like to grow outdoors year-round. They keep strong winter colors and can be cut apart to grow new plants. New rosettes can be cut down the taproot and replanted, or left to grow into unique "clumps".
Once established, Sempervivum heuffelii are drought and frost tolerant. They thrive in sunny locations, with afternoon shade if temperatures exceed 80F. Plant in-ground or in containers with drainage holes and use a gritty, well-draining soil. Sempervivum need protection from heavy rains (particularly in winter) and they are happiest overwintering under an insulating blanket of snow. They will take deep waterings if the weather is hot and dry, but need time for the soil to completely dry before being re-watered.
Plugs are fully rooted, simple to plant, and ready to grow. Find out more about planting and caring for plugs here!
