Product Details

'Fred Ives' (Graptopetulum paraguayense × Echeveria gibbiflora) (Baynes): An all-star hybrid with massive rosettes. It is a vigorous grower that can reach 12.0" wide and 8.0" tall if give plenty of space and sunlight. Their colors can vary greatly with age and sunlight exposure, leading to mesmerizing gradients of pink, purple, orange, or blue-green tones. Some rosettes will even crest (fasciate) for a really wild appearance.

We offer a larger, 3.5" pot of this variety here.

For gardeners in frost-free climates, 'Fred Ives' makes a lush, colorful ground cover. In cooler regions, it can be brought indoors to overwinter near a sunny window or under a grow light. Be sure your plant has well-draining pots and soil and that it gets watered deeply after the soil dries completely.

This vigorous grower is a great place for beginners to start. It produces lots of new rosette offsets and has a high success rate of propagation from stem cuttings and leaves (more info). Each summer, the rosettes can also send up tall bloom stalks with tiny, star-shaped, yellow blossoms.
