Highlights
Aloinopsis rubrolineata (Schwantes): An unusual mimicry plant with rough, tongue-like leaves. The foliage is purple to blue-green, with the most intense pigments showing in direct sun. It can develop a massive root system, which can be exposed above ground to grow this one as a caudiciform. It has incredible, honey-scented flowers of yellow with a fine, red mid-stripe. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.25" pot.
To help your Aloinopsis thrive, plant in a container with a drainage hole that's deep enough to accommodate their long, tuberous root. Use a gritty, rapidly draining soil that's about 2:1 mineral (coarse sand, pumice, or perlite) to organic. Keep it on a very sunny windowsill or under a grow light and water sparingly in the summer. Keep the plant completely dry during its winter dormancy. This variety will not tolerate frosts.
