Highlights
Agave isthmensis f. mediopicta alba: A miniature, variegated Agave with toothy leaves shaped like butterfly wings. This cultivar is bred from a species native to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in southern Mexico. Its blue-green leaves have large, white mid-stripes and long, coppery terminal spines. This variety needs lots of sunlight a great drainage to thrive, but will stay small (under about 5.0" wide). Take care, this cultivar is susceptible to Agave Snout Weevil.
Agave need plenty of full, outdoor sunlight and great drainage to thrive. They do well in gritty, mineral soils and pots with drainage holes. Over time you'll see new offsets or "pups" sprout up within the leaves of the mother plant.
Agave grow slowly in the spring and summer and can tolerate high heat and extended drought. This variety is not frost hardy and needs protection from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
